Spring time brings glorious high mountain flowers and opportunities to catch animals waking up from their long winter naps. The run off is normally very welcome and boaters are excited for this time of year! Big water and landscapes exploding with color are an incredible way to begin the year in Telluride!
Summer is so fun in Telluride! You can hike, bike, raft, kayak, camp, hot air balloon, swim, play tennis, golf, hang glide, fish, skate board, take long romantic walks on the miles of river trails, explore old ghost mines, drive short distances to natural hot springs, visit national parks like Arches and Canyonlands in nearby Utah, The Black Canyon just outside of Montrose, Mesa Verde down by Cortez, view the incredible Bridal Veil Falls at the end of town, and did I mention FESTIVALS? Fall brings FESTIVALS and COLOR! Rent a jeep and explore the passes with a friend or your family! You will never forget the sights and you will want to come back again and again to visit the high country for a peaceful transition into winter like no other you have seen before. Winter. Wow. What can we say but the winter brings world class skiing in an atmosphere of excitement to the table. Enjoy hundreds of open trails at all skill levels, meet new people at every turn, and explore the local mountains in a different light! A white one! Mornings of powder and beautiful sunrises will entice you to this ski town, and remember the Apres activities are second to absolutely none.
With over 300 days of sunshine, Telluride has incredible warm sunny days and relatively mild winters. The snow is usually light and fluffy and averages over 300 inches a year. The mountain offers incredible skiing for all skier types and becomes a mountain bikers oasis in the summer.
